Overview
Steve Schmid joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2001. Since then, he has worked almost exclusively on the Civil Rights, Tort, and Employment Litigation team. He defends varied lawsuits brought against the County and County employees including civil-rights cases arising out of law enforcement and correctional and child protective services; tort actions based upon dangerous condition of public property claims; medical malpractice cases; employment lawsuits arising under federal and state law; and tort claims arising out of the use of County vehicles.
