Deputy County Counsel
Overview
Laura joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2015. She litigates writs, appeals, and affirmative cases on behalf of the County and the People of the State of California, and she advises the Office of Correction and Law Enforcement Monitoring, the Community Correction and Law Enforcement Monitoring Committee, and the Behavioral Health Services Department. She also helps develop County legislation and policy initiatives aimed at improving the health, working, and living conditions of county residents. Prior to joining the Office of the County Counsel, Laura litigated cases on behalf of workers, unions, and students as an associate at Altshuler Berzon LLP. During and prior to law school, Laura worked with organizations advocating for immigrants’ rights and humane immigration policy.
