Jerett Yan
Deputy County Counsel
Overview
Jerett Yan joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2021 as a member of the Finance, Government Operations, and Technology Team and the Environment and Land Use Team. He is counsel to the County Airports Department, the Airports Commission, the Assessment Appeals Board, and the County’s Digital Equity Consortium. He also advises on telecommunications law, public ethics, and regulatory compliance matters.
Before joining the County, Jerett advised public agencies on a variety of litigation and advisory matters including procurement of infrastructure projects using alternative project delivery methods; implementation of taxes, assessments, and fees; code enforcement; and processing applications for land use entitlements. Prior to that, he investigated and adjudicated complaints regarding discrimination in environmental permitting and enforcement practices as an attorney advisor to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
