Overview
Cristina Stella joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2023. She advises the County’s Office of Sustainability, Department of Environmental Health, and Department of Planning and Development. Prior to joining the Office Cristina managed the litigation program at a national nonprofit organization. For over ten years she represented plaintiffs in a variety of environmental and consumer protection matters relating to industrial agricultural practices, including cases before the Supreme Court of the United States. Cristina has also taught Animal Law at the UC Davis School of Law and the University of San Francisco School of Law. Cristina previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Warren M. Silver on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Cristina’s professional expertise includes federal impact litigation, citizen suits, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, Administrative Procedure Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Freedom of Information Act, and food and agricultural policy.
